Biomass Boiler Investment at Suffolk Mushrooms

Suffolk Mushrooms - Supporting the Environment with a new Biomass Boiler

Since its' opening in 2010 Suffolk Mushrooms have always pledged to give back where possible and to minimise any negative impact on the environment. In keeping with this promise, Suffolk  Mushrooms are delighted to introduce a new Biomass Boiler to the farm at Stanton, Suffolk.

At a cost of £300,000 this represents a significant investment for the company. The Biomass Boiler is now fully operational and has virtually replaced the oil requirement with locally sourced wood chip. Delivering savings of 182 tonnes of carbon per year and 667 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year this has been a true environmental success story.

This form of sustainable investment and progress is evidence of the continued support from Suffolk Mushrooms for the environment, the local community and of course our customers, all motivated by sustainability and local provenance.
