All Star Charity Football Match Sponsored by Walsh Mushrooms

Name the mascot for all-star charity football match!

Growers United F.C., Worcestershire is laying down a challenge for local schoolchildren asking them to come up with a name for their official team mascot. Walsh Mushrooms are delighted to be entering a football team for the tournament and sponsoring 'Horti', the Mascot who made his debut at this weekend's Worcester races.

Growers United was launched in October last year by Vicarage Nurseries, a local horticultural business aiming to raise funds for charity, promote horticulture and agriculture and encourage integration between communities. Their initial aim was to raise money for the treatment of Esme Clayson, a leukemia patient at the Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Esme is now thankfully recovering, but the organisers have big plans for the “beautiful game” and want to continue to use football and all sports as a way to build greater friendships between the many different communities in the Vale.
