Custom Compost Ltd, is the main compost production facility for the groups Irish operation. Over the last four years we have invested more than €7m making this the most modern and technically advanced compost production facility in Ireland or the UK.
Production is currently at 1,500 tonnes per week producing both Phase II and Phase III compost for all growing systems Bags, Blocks and Bulk.
Having pioneered bunker compost in Ireland in 1995, we have now taken further steps and moved to an 'Indoor Aerated System'. We now have total control of moisture, temperature and oxygen. This is further enhanced by the overhead filling system, creating a uniform mix leading to consistent, high quality compost, which we are proud to have built our reputation on.
This technology aids a sound environmental approach, substantially reducing nuisance odours in comparison to conventional windrow composting.

Investments in Phase III compost have continued to give us the most modern facilities available. Spawning is conducted under clean room conditions, hygiene being paramount. Spawn run is fully controlled to optimum environmental conditions for a duration of 17/18 days.
Further investment in Phase III in 2004 with delivery of 3 new bulk trailers. This doubles our capacity to supply shelf systems for growers, an investment in our customers which is key to continued efficiency and viability.

Agricultural Supply Co. was integrated into the Walsh Group in 1990.
A purpose built conventional yard which has the capacity to further increase output. Agricultural Supply Co is an integral part of increasing our UK supply base of mushrooms. |
