Vale Park, Evesham
Construction of our new Sales & Distribution Headquarters at Evesham was completed in August 2000. From this modern chilled distribution facility all existing and future customer requirements can be looked after well into the future.

An expansion of 15 thousand sq feet has been added to the original facility, to cater for increased throughput.

Marches Mushrooms
The partnership with new growers in the Marches area of Western England, 40 miles from Evesham has been quite successful. The first two growers have already doubled production and additional growers are expected to start soon. Product is collected on a daily basis and transported to Evesham for grading, packaging and onward distribution to the consumer.

A new grower set up production in 2001 and has doubled in size in 2003.

Phase III Compost

In February 2001 Custom Compost completed its additional expansion into the Phase III compost market, giving a total output of 800t per week.

An additional expansion of 200t per week was commissioned in 2002 costing £800,000..

Blocked Compost Phase II & III

Custom Compost doubled its bulk delivery capacity with 2 additional bulk trailers. We expect to be able to satisfy shelf growers well into the future.

This is viewed as a key investment in efficiency.

Outlook
We see the mushroom market being competitive with ever increasing pressure on margins. We have experienced strong growth in the supermarket sector and will continue to expand in this area.

To continue our strong expansion we will be looking to welcome new growers into the grower marketing groups.

The Dutch will continue to have a strong influence in the market for the year ahead.
