Founded in Gorey, Co Wexford, by our Chairman Pat Walsh in 1979, Walsh Mushrooms have been a key supplier of quality fresh mushrooms to the UK market for over a quarter of a century.

Mushroom Production & Compost Manufacture
Harnessing the traditional agricultural skills and resources of Ireland to modern day market expectations, we have provided a full service to the best mushroom producers in Ireland throughout that period, from compost manufacture through to marketing and final distribution.

Since 2004 we have provided the same high quality marketing service to selected and committed new growers in Poland. We have also, for many years, worked closely with specialist producers in Holland.

All sites producing mushrooms for us hold Eurepgap / Global Gap / Assured Produce Accreditation, and the relevant sites hold Tesco's Natures Choice to gold standard.

State of The Art Facilities
Underpinned by on-going heavy investment in our state of the art compost making facility in Co Wexford, which has set the standard others aspire to, we have expanded continuously to reach our current position as one of the largest and most reliable businesses in the mushroom industry, accounting for over 10% of the UK mushroom market, with a Group turnover in excess of €60m. With over 120 employees, we indirectly support an additional 1,000 + jobs through our suppliers.

From our centrally located UK headquarters site near Evesham in Worcestershire, we provide daily cold-chain distribution to retailers, food manufacturers and food service customers nationwide, meeting the varied specifications of our customers and delivering their orders in full and on time, as a matter of course.

This fully equipped, temperature controlled facility provides packing and labelling to meet individual client requirements backed up with full HACCP, QA and traceability systems, all necessary for our blue chip customer portfolio. Newly built in 2000, we hold Level 4 BRC accreditation at Grade A.

Supplying Superb Products
We are currently drive suppliers to Tesco, The Co-Operative Group, Aldi and other independents in the retail sector, whilst our prepared mushroom section at Evesham enables us to provide washed, sliced and diced mushroom products to top food manufacturers such as Samworth Brothers Group (Ginsters etc), RHM, Uniq and numerous others.

Agricultural Supply Company, a wholly owned subsidiary near Cirencester, Gloucestershire makes and supplies high quality compost to many UK growers, including a high proportion of organic compost, from which we take product enabling us to make an organic offer to our customers.
